Tips for a beautiful and healthy you..

|
eauty1) Hydrate yourself!

Your body is estimated to be about 60 to 70 percent water. Blood is mostly water, and your muscles, lungs, and brain all contain a lot of water. The body needs water to regulate body temperature and to provide the means for nutrients to travel to all your organs. The study provides some support for the general recommendation to drink eight glasses of water a day while dieting. For most people that would add a liter or two to their regular water intake. However, it may be difficult to drink enough water on a busy day. Be sure you have water handy at all times by keeping a bottle for water with you when you are working, traveling, or exercising. If you get bored with plain water, add a bit of lemon or lime for a touch of flavor. There are some brands of flavored water available, but watch for extra calories.

2) Colgate for pimples?

Colgate doesn't just remove unwanted residue on your teeth, it can also be used to reduce pimples.Yes yes.. Well I can't possibly say that it can clear off pimples or acne on your face but it works to remove the pimples bit by bit. Just dab a small amount on your pimple or acne and wait until it dries up (Basically it's like a mask for pimples).

3) Yogurt for yummier hair

Yogurt is not only the creamy base of your conditioner, but is a gentle cleanser. It works to clear the pores of your scalp and promotes hair growth. Yogurt is also naturally high in lactic acid, an element that will help to shine and smooth tangled hair, making it easier to comb, leaving your hair soft and beautiful.

4) An apple a day keeps the (skin)doctors away?

The Apple is widely recognized for its nutritional benefits. Less well-known is that apples also provide amazing skin benefits. Apples have been used for centuries for their skin-healing powers and are a great natural beauty tool. Apple juice is rich is vitamin B and makes an excellent remedy for fine wrinkles, cracked skin, itching and inflammation. Apple juice can be used as an astringent, for cleansing, to help tighten pores, and to protect skin from free-radicals. Green apple helps eliminate sun or age spots (hyper-pigmentation). Malic acid that contained in green apple also has been proven to help stimulate and speed skin cell renewal. Eating apples is actually a beauty aid itself because apples nourish the skin from within, providing natural nutrients that help nourish, moisten, soften and renew skin.

5) Got milk?

Milk is a key ingredient in a healthy diet, but it also helps create beautiful skin. This is due to the vitamins A and D and proteins, which are present in milk. There are also beauty products containing milk that, when applied topically, provide another way to use milk to improve your complexion. For smoother skin, bathe in a tub of warm water mixed with milk. While bathing, use a washcloth or loofah to slough off dead or rough skin. Although applying milk to your skin is sure to create a softer surface, ingesting milk is another great way to get the vitamins you need for a healthy glow. Aim for two to three glasses of fat-free or low-fat milk daily. An added bonus is that drinking milk has been shown to help control weight.

All about minerals

|
Ladies, I assume that some of you have heard of the latest emerging cosmetic product, mineral make-up. In case some of you are still wondering, mineral makeup is based on a hypoallergenic loose powder that naturally nourishes the skin. It contains no perfumes, talc, alcohol, dyes, mineral oil or preservatives which normal make-ups usually have.

What are the benefits of using mineral makeup?

  • Good for sensitive skin - Lots of women struggle with acne, allergies, dryness and clogged pores from unfriendly commercial makeup. Mineral makeup lets you enhance skin care with positive beauty choices, not create more problems.
  • Doesn't feel like a mask - For some women, traditional makeup, often heavier, can feel like a mask. Mineral makeup's texture is lighter and different. Even with more coverage, experts say you'll see a natural, translucent radiance and more of your skin, which can breathe.
  • Contains ingredients that are good for skin - For women who can't get to a spa, triple-milled minerals like titanium, gold, zinc, magnesium and aluminum naturally relax, refresh and rejuvenate the skin.
  • Does not enhance wrinkles like traditional powders - If you have fine lines or crow's-feet, traditional makeup can cake in those places, often creating an illusion of deeper lines. Minerals create real health and a glow like we had in our teens and 20s through essential vitamins, antioxidants and ingredients that actually hydrate the skin and conceal wrinkles.
  • Helps protect skin from sun - The sun is said to be the number-one aging agent. Mineral makeup's zinc oxide offers natural UVA-UVB protection.
  • Can be used after peels - Skin procedures such as lasers and peels are common. Minerals are the natural choice to calm and soothe red, bruised, itchy, inflamed and flaking skin. This product hides imperfections, then camouflages with minerals that actually block the sun, which is crucial after aggressive treatments. In fact, after certain treatments, you shouldn't use sunscreens. Minerals cool the skin and encourage faster healing.
  • Makes skin look better - The old makeup phrase "putting on your face" may soon be obsolete. Mineral makeup can look and feel like you're wearing nothing at all, like a silky top layer of your very own skin. In short, you look like you have great skin!

Dermatologists are definitely impressed with this emerging trend that is currently a big hit in the United States, United Kingdom and some Europe countries. Even though the trend has not started in Malaysia, but I believe it is slowly emerging as Revlon counters in various pharmacies and shopping malls have introduced their mineral products. Unfortunately, their range of mineral makeup only consists of blusher and eye shadow. This is probably because mineral make-ups are usually more expensive compared to normal traditional makeup and users don’t know the function of mineral make-ups. Being a Malaysian myself, I know we are very price conscious when it comes to buying things for personal use. Plus when it comes to skin care, women tend to not take risk. Therefore, they stick to the products that are proven suitable for their skin.

Back to the story, mineral make up has definitely gained a lot of trust from the consumers because it is proven to be effective. Personally, I have not tried mineral makeup before but I am eager to try since I discovered a website that sells mineral makeup at VERY affordable prices. And guess what? It is based in Malaysia! Good news to the ladies out there. LovingMinerals.com offers a wide range of mineral products. The website also sells sample sized products for new beginners. RM30 and you get a set of sample sized minerals. What have you got to lose?
